Research collaboration is carried out both at the Nordic and European level
Since children are mainly healthy, there is a need for extensive cooperation in clinical trials of affected children and adolescents to enable all individual patients to participate in the trials and to gather sufficient information for all trials on the safety and efficacy of the new treatment.
FINPEDMED collaborates at the Nordic level through the NORDICPEDMED network. FINPEDMED is also a member of the European Paediatric Research Network, Enpr-EMA (European Network of Paediatric Research at the European Medicines Agency), which operates under the auspices of the European Medicines Agency. Enpr-EMA is a permanent structure based on the legislative requirement of the EU Paediatric Regulation. FINPEDMED has been involved in three EU projects; Global Research in Paediatrics GRiP (2014-2017), PedCRIN (2017-2020) and Conect4Children-c4c (2018-2025).
