Expert Services

The services of the FINPEDMED network are provided by all the network’s expert members, who represent expertise in the development of paediatric medicines, paediatric medical devices and other paediatric clinical research in a wide range of specialties. Experts respond to requests for services through the FINPEDMED office. The operations are based on FINPEDMED’s own Terms of FINPEDMED Services. Experts do not act in the role of authority and do not take decisions related to administrative tasks. All experts work independently, representing their area of expertise as a member of FINPEDMED. All experts are personally committed to the confidentiality of information obtained and processed through FINPEDMED. Experts are not allowed to share confidential information related to service requests with third parties, except for their own research staff needed to carry out that task.

Experts’ duties include, inter alia, specialist national opinions and assessments of the feasibility of carrying out studies, as well as specific issues related to research plans or research products and devices to be studied. The contracting authority shall specify the scope of the tasks in each service request. Separate non-disclosure agreements for companies or required declarations of affiliation are issued to clients in accordance with their requirements. Experts may also conduct consultations through consultation agreements on a fee basis. The fee is determined according to the scope of the task in accordance with the Service Fees of the FINPEDMED network. The financial transactions are managed through the Clinical Research Institute HUS Ltd.
