Conect4children -c4c-S (2018-2025)
Conect4children -c4c- was a giant public-private partnership. As a result of the project, a European children’s clinical trials network, c4c-Stichting (c4c-S), was built, with an office in Utrecht, the Netherlands. The project involved 35 European hospitals and research organizations, 10 international pharmaceutical companies from 20 European countries and 500 other partners. From Finland, HUS and New Children’s Hospital as well as other university hospitals were involved as partners. Finland’s strength and contributing factor to the c4c partnership was FINPEDMED’s activities. During the project, clinical drug trials were also conducted in Finland, including the prevention of open ductus arteriosus with paracetamol (TREOCAPA) and the prevention of coronary anemia with steroid therapy in Kawasaki disease (KD-CAAP).
